Harlan Goldstein is an award-winning, Michelin-starred chef with a storied career that spans across some of the world’s most renowned culinary capitals. With roots in New York City, Harlan began his culinary journey at the tender age of 14 in his uncle’s restaurant. His passion and talent quickly propelled him to prestigious kitchens around the globe, including the Montreux Palace Hotel in Switzerland and Shangri-La’s China World Hotel in Beijing. Over the years, Harlan has honed his craft, embracing diverse culinary traditions from countries such as Italy, Spain, Mexico, Japan, and Thailand. His approach to food is both innovative and deeply personal, reflecting his extensive travels and global experiences.
After achieving great success in Hong Kong, where he opened multiple acclaimed restaurants like Harlan’s at IFC, Harlan decided to bring his culinary expertise to Pattaya, Thailand. Here, he opened “Comfort by Harlan,” a restaurant that perfectly encapsulates his philosophy of serving “Food for Friends”—a blend of comfort food and fine dining that caters to a sophisticated, international clientele .

I love that the kitchen is open. Watching the chef work adds to the experience—you see the care in every step. The mashed potatoes were smooth and creamy, and the peppercorn sauce balanced the steak perfectly.
Service was excellent. Maybe a little too attentive at times, but always polite and professional.

Salad was very nice, quite small portion.
Shrimp taco a little bit salty but delicious.
Shrimp spaghetti was salty, I told the staff and they change a new one but still salty.
The point is the staff lady should check if the 2nd dish of spagethhi is still salty before give it to me but she didn’t check and its turned out to be the same. Too salty that I cant continue eating. The staff lady said the pasta sauce is already made for that day so what is the point of making a new one because they will use the same pasta sauce ? 😖
The service was very nice but too crowded the staff lady told me that I can only have 1.5 hr to eat before the next guest come 🤨
